A delicate tea with buttery sweetness. A velvety-smooth taste that’s more pronounced than many other Chinese green teas. Large leaves are pressed to produce a uniquely-shaped tea leaf that is best served in a tall glass rather than a pot.
Skilled harvesters choose only the finest two leaf and bud leaves, but process this tea without the traditional rolling.
After being straightened and heated, each leaf is hand-sorted, delicately twisted, laid on a mesh and pressed with a roller until flat.
The leaves are roasted until dry and then given 24-48 hours to 'rest'. They are then individually laid over bamboo and roasted again to finish the tea.
The end result is a large, flat leaf with a mesh print and subtle red stems and veins.
This delicate tea is best infused with 3-5g of leaf at 80 degrees for about three minutes. Ideally served in a tall glass.
